On Thursday morning we drove into Grahamstown, where my parents dropped me off at Victoria Girls High School with my moms friend Francesca. Francesca gave me a tour of the school then took me to her husbands class room, where i gave a talk about living in Seattle and going to Eckstein for about 45 minutes. After that, We went back to the beach in Kenton on the Sea and planned to go swimming, but the water was so murky from the previous nights storm and erosion, that we didn't. Instead, we went on a walk down the beach and saw hundreds of washed up squid and a lot of washed up cactus. For dinner, we met up with a friend of my mom named Isabelle and went to a really nice pizza place.  [Thursday, Oct 18]

On Wednesday morning, we went on our last safari, then left to go to Kenton on the Sea. Before we left Lalibela, we were given a drum lesson with one other family from our camp. When we got to Kenton on the Sea, it started raining and over night there was a huge storm. There was a lot of wind and rain so some cars got washed into the sea and many of the houses in Kenton got flooded. [Wednesday, Oct 17]

We spent all of Monday and Tuesday at the Lalibela Game Reserve. It was really fun! We woke up at 5am to eat breakfast then go on a safari at 6am. On both days we went on really wet safaris, but we saw a lot of animals. We got back at 9am and had our brunch. Then we would spend the rest of the day at the Lodge playing Uno and sitting by the fire and at 2ish we would have lunch then go on another safari. Then we would come back to another meal! There were 4 other familys staying at our camp, and 2 had kids around my age, so we had lots of fun. [Monday & Tuesday, Oct 15 & 16]

There was a lot of chaos on Saturday morning as we packed up to leave Spier hotel. My dad couldn't find his credit card, my mom had to help a friend change her international flight because the friend had gotten very sick over night, and we had to prepare for a 7 hour drive to our next hotel at Storms River. We eventually found out where our credit card was and got our friends flight changed to Sunday, but by the time we got to Storms River it was very late. [Saturday, Oct 13]

In Cape Town we walked around the harbor and went on the Ferris wheel. After that we met up with our new friend, Joel, and his daughter, Zahara, and had a great dinner. [Friday, Oct 12]

On Thursday we went on a long drive to the Cape Point. On the way, we stopped at Boulders Beach where we saw 3 whales and many penguins. We hung out at Cape Point for a little while. On our way home we saw a big group of Baboons sitting by the road and we also stopped at a Ostrich farm. That night we went to a dinner for my moms work and met some really nice people.
